Hello, folks!
Wow, February sure flew by, and is nearly over! I'm super-excited for the last gig of the month this Tuesday, Feb 26 at the Shanti in Soulard: Mic the People For the People, a charity open mic night, will be raising money for local non-profit Self-Sufficient St. Louis. My co-host happens to be the founder of SSSTL, who work on sustainable and urban farming projects in the area, as well as oversee the Dave Hagerty Community Garden, which happens to be next to one of our favorite venues in town, Off Broadway. It'll be 9pm to 1 am this Tuesday, ages 21+, and has a suggested cover of $3 (all of which goes to SSSTL & the community garden).
March is full of gigs! Things are thawing out as we speak, and we plan to hit the ground running come springtime 2013. Some gigs in March 2013 include:
Sun 3.3: solo at Lemmons (STL) w/Andy Hyland, Hands & Feet, Cali Thickness, and Aliya Waldman. No cover, all ages! 8 pm.
Thurs 3.7: solo at Venice Cafe (STL) w/Rebecca Ryan, and Syna So Pro. $3 cover, 21+, cash only bar (ATM available). 9 pm.
Sat 3.9: hosting open mic night at Livery Co. (STL). No cover, 21+. 9 pm.
Fri 3.15: Ides of March toga party at the Crack Fox (STL). Suzie Cue & The Terrible 2s, Psyhedelic Psychonauts, Seymour Awesome, LB Johnson, and more! $5 cover, 21+. 8 pm.
Sat 3.23: 2nd anniversary/block party for Halfway Haus bar (STL). Solo w/ Jen Norman, Cole Adams, and more. Starts early--I play around 4:30. Cole's headlining at around 7 pm. No cover!
AND I'll be hosting open mic night at Livery Co. (STL) as well on the 23rd. No cover, 21+. 9 pm.
Tues 3.26: solo at the Student Center on the SIUC campus (Carbondale, IL). More details to come! 7-9 pm. **FIRST SHOW in Carbondale EVER!**
Sat 3.30: solo at Plush (STL) w/ Langen Neubacher & The Defeated County, The Union Electric, and Great Isaac (their first show back since the tragic loss of their drummer last fall. They'll be debuting new songs AND their new drummer!). ALL proceeds benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. $5 cover, ages 18+. Doors at 7 pm; show at 8 (I'm opening, so come early and drink late!)
Dave and Steve (those lovely Terrible 2s of mine) are learning some new tunes in preparation for recording later this year. Steve's even been playing banjo as of late with me! This next album is already shaping up to be epic--an overused term, I know. Too bad! :)
There are some other irons in the fire, and I can't wait to let y'all know what they are! But not yet. So stay tuned...and stay warm, in the meantime.
-Suzie Cue
